Sheridan was one of six chefs nominated by the chapter’s board of directors. In a press release, Wakefern Food Corp. said the factors for nomination include “all-around chef skills” and ability to represent the chapter.
Sheridan’s experience also extends to teaching. She currently works as an adjunct professor at Schenectady Community College, where she teaches food-related classes. She was also a contestant on TV’s "Hell’s Kitchen" with Chef Gordon Ramsey.
The AFC chapter membership, consisting of more than 500 chefs, will vote to determine the Chef of the Year finalist, who will be honored at a dinner reception Tuesday, April 22, at Franklin Plaza in Troy, NY.
