Acosta Expands Foodservice Division 2012

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Acosta Sales & Marketing here said it has acquired four more foodservice sales and marketing agencies in the Southeast as part of its previously announced plan to roll up the industry.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Acosta Sales & Marketing here said it has acquired four more foodservice sales and marketing agencies in the Southeast as part of its previously announced plan to roll up the industry.

Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

Acosta entered the foodservice channel earlier this year through the purchases of Venture Sales Group in the Northeast and Quality Sales & Marketing in the Carolinas.

The acquisitions of United Foodservice Sales, with operations in Alabama and the Florida panhandle; Innovative Foodservice Marketing, with operations in Mississippi; Premier Sales Associates, with operations in Tennessee; and Joyner Brokerage Co., with operations in Arkansas, extend Acosta’s foodservice division in the Southeast.

As previously reported, Acosta receently tapped Mark Hayden, a longtime Lamb Weston veteran, to be president of the new foodservice division.
