Food City Employees to Lead NASCAR Event
ABINGDON, Va. — In recognition of its 20th year of as title sponsor of the Food City 500 NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway this month, store managers and officials from K-VA-T Food Stores here will participate in official race ceremonies.

ABINGDON, Va. — In recognition of its 20th year of as title sponsor of the Food City 500 NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway this month, store managers and officials from K-VA-T Food Stores here will participate in official race ceremonies.
K-VA-T’s Food City banner is Bristol Motor Speedway’s longest running sponsor and the second longest in all of NASCAR.
Food City has invited managers at all of its 140 stores to serve as honorary grand marshals of the race, which takes place March 18. Don Smith, K-VA-T’s vice president of store development, will wave the green flag, and Steve Smith, K-VA-T’s chief executive officer, will lead the crowd in pronouncing, “Gentlemen, start your engines!”

They’re loyal to Food City, to Bristol, to the sport, to their drivers and to their products,” Steve Smith said. “We would like to thank our customers and associates for their tremendous support and dedication, which makes this all possible and our Bristol Motor Speedway family for 20 unforgettable years.”
