LANDOVER, Md. — Giant Food awarded a customer free groceries for one year in a contest designed to increase the retailer’s Facebook following.

Sarah Calamore, who shops at Giant’s Stone Road store in Centreville, Va., won $7,800 in Giant gift cards in the “Coupon to End All Coupons” sweepstakes, which encouraged customers to “like” Giant’s Facebook page.

Scott Belcher, store manager, and Felis Andrade, the retailer’s director of marketing and external communications, recently presented her with her prize.

Giant Food operates 170 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.
