SAN ANTONIO — In honor of Texas Independence Day, H.E. Butt Grocery Co. has launched TexFest, a two-week celebration of “All Things Texas.”

The promotion includes the “H-E-B Texas Showdown.” Each week in March, shoppers who buy a select national brand will get the H-E-B-brand counterpart for free. This week’s deal is buy Keebler Deluxe Chocolate Chip Cookies and get H-E-B Chips Galore cookies for free with an in-store coupon. All those who provide feedback on the heb.com website will be entered into a random drawing for prizes including $4,000 in cash, $300 in Southwest Airlines gift cards and $200 in H-E-B gift cards.

H-E-B TexFest also includes sampling and cooking demonstrations of Texas recipes, such as Seasoned Fajitas, Texas BBQ Rub Brisket and Gulf Shrimp. The promotion runs through March 15.
