Harris Teeter has expanded its Fuel Points rewards program to include BP and Amoco gas stations.

Through its partnership with fuel company BP, the Matthews, N.C.-based Kroger Co. grocery chain said all customers across its seven-state market area can now earn rewards to save on fill-ups at Harris Teeter Fuel Center, BP and Amoco locations.

Harris Teeter shoppers enrolled in Fuel Rewards save up to $1 per gallon per 1,000 fuel points redeemed at eligible gas stations. For about every $100 shoppers spend at Harris Teeter using their VIC savings card, they save 10 cents a gallon on fuel.

“Teaming up with BP to expand our Fuel Points program to all of our loyal shoppers enhances our customer experience and allows us to reward customer loyalty in a new way,” Danna Robinson, communication manager at Harris Teeter, said in a statement. “We can now give each of our shoppers cents off the gallon for purchases they make every day in our stores.”

Harris Teeter VIC cardholders earn one fuel point for each dollar spent on eligible grocery items and double points when purchasing eligible retailer gift cards. Shoppers also can earn 50 fuel points for each purchase of a non-federally funded prescription. Points are redeemed in increments of 100; a shopper with 200 points receives 20 cents off per gallon.

At the pump, fuel savings are activated by entering a VIC card alternate ID, usually a phone number, and are limited to a single purchase of up to 35 gallons of fuel at Harris Teeter, BP and Amoco fuel stations. Shoppers can view their fuel point balance on their receipt, at HarrisTeeter.com or via the HT Mobile App.

“We are thrilled to launch this exciting partnership with Harris Teeter,” said Jo Brecknock, director of brand and communications at BP. “We know that our consumers want more choices when it comes to how they are rewarded by BP, and this program makes it even easier for our customers to save money on fuel purchases.”

Harris Teeter operates about 245 stores and 25 fuel stations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and the District of Columbia.
