WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — A new mobile app from Hy-Vee responds to voice inquiries about product location by leading shoppers to that item’s aisle and shelf.

The interactive app also makes it easy to engage in Hy-Vee’s social media channels and even reports out-of-stocks via Twitter. Users can create shopping lists, and order catering, floral and bakery items.

"We decided to jump into the social media conversation and make our stores easier to navigate by developing an app that helps you find the foods you're looking for faster, and even tweet about what's missing on our shelves," said Ruth Comer, a spokeswoman for Hy-Vee.

The free app is customized by store and available for the leading smartphone platforms. It’s built on the AT&T Mobile Enterprise Applications Platform utilizing Taqtile Mobility's Shingle solution for retail.
