Meijer Inc. said it is rolling out free Wi-Fi access to all 204 of its locations to make it easier for customers to use the retailer’s mobile shopping tools.
“Our customers are relying on digital tools more than ever as they shop, which is why we're constantly providing them with resources to enhance their shopping experience,” said Michael Ross, VP of customer marketing and emerging technology Meijer. “And, now with free Wi-Fi in our stores, we're offering an additional cost savings because our customers no longer have to use their data plans while shopping.”

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer said it has surpassed 2 million subscribers to its mPerks digital coupon program. In December, the company said it added 129,000 new members and tallied 31 million “clipped” offers, worth $12.6 million in savings.
The retailer has recently added several enhancements, including a new mPerks website; personalized, baby and pharmacy rewards; and offers bundled by theme.
Meijer also said it has nearly 650,000 users of its mobile app, which allows shoppers to view and clip digital coupons with the mPerks program, create and check off items on a shopping list, browse sale items and save them to a shopping list, locate nearby Meijer stores, and search for products on an in-store map.
