LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix Super Markets is giving cheese lovers an up-close-and-personal look at the cheese-buying process.

It has created the Twitter hashtag #PublixCheese so that shoppers can follow Publix cheese buyers as they search for new products.

A recent post included a picture of cheese curds. Publix buyers sampled them on a trip to one of the retailer’s Wisconsin suppliers. They are not carried in stores.

“Definitely a Midwestern treat,” “Abby,” one of Publix’ cheese buyers, Tweeted.
