When it comes to the food and beverage brands for which consumers expressed the most love on social media, Skittles and Budweiser bested all others, according to the Food and Beverage Report 2016 from NetBase, a social analytics tool.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company analyzed more than 84 million social mentions to rank the top 80 food and beverage brands for which consumers expressed the most positive sentiments.

The analysis included volume of conversation, awareness, reach, net sentiment and brand passion for top food and beverage brands representing beverages, candy, cereal, dairy and snacks.

Among the findings:

• Non-alcoholic beverage brands took up four spots in the top 10 and had the largest mention volume out of all the store aisles.
• The main conversation driver for dairy products was health concerns, and for snacks and candy it was humor.
• Wine brands such as E&J Gallo had a highly favorable passion expressed but a low overall volume of mentions.
