BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores here said Tuesday it is localizing its Facebook application by launching more than 3,500 store-specific pages to provide information at the local level on products, pricing and in-store events.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores said Tuesday it is localizing its Facebook application by launching more than 3,500 store-specific pages to provide information at the local level on products, pricing and in-store events.

"Wal-Mart's new app offers enhanced local interaction at an unprecedented scale to its customers," said Carolyn Everson, vice president of global marketing solutions, Facebook. "Wal-Mart continues to put people at the center of its marketing, in this case by bringing relationships to life locally."

To access local pages, Facebook users can go to facebook.com/walmart; click on the "My Local Walmart" tab; enter their ZIP code and "like" their local store.
