BURBANK, Calif. -- Columbia TriStar Home Video shipped more than 1.75 million units of "Sleepless in Seattle" after it repriced the hit title at $19.95 for the sell-through market. The movie had shipped 520,000 units when it was released to the rental market in December 1993. The company also shipped more than 100,000 units of "Sleepless" into Canada, making it the biggest-selling repriced theatrical release in Canadian video history. There, it sells for $19.95 in Canadian currency. "We are thrilled over the success of this outstanding film on video," said Paul Culberg, executive vice president of Columbia TriStar Home Video. "However, it seemed an expected event. This is a timeless and hugely entertaining video title, which is fast becoming a classic. We expect 'Sleepless in Seattle' to continue to be a strong selling release in the future," he said.
