Amazon has announced that its 40th Amazon Fresh store is now open in The Promenade at Westlake (140 Promenade Way, Thousand Oaks, California).

Since its debut in 2020, Amazon Fresh stores have continued to grow and expand in California, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Washington, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey.

California has at least 15 other Amazon Fresh locations, more than any of the other states that the stores are located in. Some of the other California locations include: Fullerton, Long Beach, North Hollywood, Woodland Hills and Huntington Beach. A couple of weeks ago, an Amazon Fresh store opened in Southern California in Encino.

Last month, New York and New Jersey welcomed their first Amazon Fresh stores, and there are three more stores expected to open soon in New Jersey in Eatontown, Lodi and Woodland Park.

The new approximately 33,000-square-foot California location will offer Just Walk Out Shopping technology, eliminating the need for the traditional checkout line and allowing customers to shop and pay with Amazon’s app. Also, customers will find national brands, produce, meat, seafood and prepared foods.

Local brands such as Caulipower, McConnell’s Ice Cream, Groundwork Coffee and Food For Life will be available, as well as 365 by Whole Foods Market organics, and Amazon-exclusive brands like Aplenty, Cursive and Fresh (including Fresh Plant-Based products).

To celebrate the store’s grand opening, Amazon Fresh will be hosting festivities all weekend. There will be giveaways of Amazon Fresh Coffee, and free samples of smoothies made with Amazon Fresh Almond Milk, and prepared mac & cheese. There will also be discounts of up to 20% on items in-store for Prime members.

In addition to bringing a new grocery store to the area, Amazon Fresh will also be supporting the local community by creating hundreds of jobs, and by donating surplus food to local food banks.
