Expo East 2008 kicked off with the 14th Annual Socially Responsible Business Awards Breakfast, sponsored by more than a dozen companies, and emceed by Gurudhan Khalsa, director of sales for Golden Temple, Yogi Tea and Peace Cereal companies.

awards.jpgThis year's winners are: Numi Organic Teas, Pangea Organics (body care), and Nordic Naturals (a manufacturer of all-natural omega-3 products). The awards honor the highest achievement in corporate and individual behavior as it relates to exemplary business citizenship in the rapidly growing natural, organic and sustainable products marketplace.

The keynote address was delivered by Kit Crawford and Gary Erickson, the husband-and-wife team behind Clif Bar, the privately held company that's a leader in the energy bar category.guitar2.jpg

What's quirky about this annual event is the exquisite guitar music that accompanies the breakfast each year, provided by a guru affiliated with Yogi Tea. Only at Expo East!
