CHANDLER, Ariz. – Bashas’ here is expanding its use of e-sourcing and procurement technology from Phoenix-based Intesource to reduce the cost of goods and services.

Bashas’ began using Intesource’s reverse auction tool in 2000 for meat replenishment and grocery goods, realizing more than 20% savings in grocery procurement. Having emerged from bankruptcy, Bashas’ is expanding use of the technology to services such as landscaping, parking lot sweeping and card processing, as well as re-sale products such as retail propane, bagged ice, and seasonal items, and not-for-resale items such as IT Equipment, office supplies, and receipt paper, according to Intesource.
