ATLANTA — The Food Marketing Institute held its second Energy & Store Development Conference here last month, combining what had been two separate conferences. In addition to educational sessions about energy retrofits and refrigeration, attendees got to learn about construction processes and small-store formats. The Environmental Protection Agency was also a major participant, as its GreenChill Partnership awards were presented to retailers that had achieved refrigerant leak reduction goals. A number of retailers were found at the first-day reception.
