Blount Fine Foods Acquires Cape Cod Chowder Company

1 Min Read

Blount Fine Foods, a manufacturer of hand-crafted artisan soups and gourmet dips, sauces and salads, has acquired the Cape Cod Chowder Company of Marion, Mass. Cape Cod Chowder Company is a regionally distributed manufacturer of more than 50 different varieties and sizes of fresh and frozen soups, dips and spreads. “Cape Cod Chowder is an excellent company with strong management, great products and similar values, and we have watched and admired them for years,” said Todd Blount, president of Blount Fine Foods. “We look forward to integrating its business and products into Blount Fine Foods.” Blount plans to move soup production of the Cape Cod Chowder brand to its newly renovated and upgraded seafood soup plant on the Warren, R.I. waterfront. Production of the seafood dip and spread lines, which are sold under the Offshore Delight brand, will be moved to Blount’s Fall River, Mass. headquarters production facility. Blount announced it has no plans for immediate changes to products, quality and customer service, except where Blount’s expertise, scale and efficiencies can add benefit. It plans to continue marketing products under the Cape Cod Chowder Company brand and will look to build on the product portfolio over time. “Much of the product will continue to be sold and delivered through Cape Cod Chowder’s affiliate, Sea Horse Seafood Distribution, so the marketplace should see little or no disruption,” added Blount.
