On visits to supermarkets in Deerfield Beach, the brand was not available at Albertson's; Publix priced the brand slightly more than the second and third best-selling brands; and Pick & Pay priced the three leading brands much higher than its two larger chain competitors did.

Procter & Gamble's Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe cake mix is the category leader in the greater Fort Lauderdale/Miami marketplace. On visits to supermarkets in Deerfield Beach, the brand was not available at Albertson's; Publix priced the brand slightly more than the second and third best-selling brands; and Pick & Pay priced the three leading brands much higher than its two larger chain competitors did. General Mills' Betty Crocker Supermoist brand of cake mix leads the category nationally with 24% share of market, according to Information Resources. It trails Duncan Hines in southeast Florida. Pillsbury Plus holds down third place locally and around the country.
