BRUNO'S NAMES GARRISON PRESIDENT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Paul F. Garrison has been elected president and chief operating officer of Bruno's here.

er. The position of chief operating officer had been vacant. Garrison, who will report to Bruno, is the first executive outside the Bruno family to serve as president of the 258-unit chain.

He was senior executive vice president, in charge of all Bruno's operations. No successor will be named to that post.

Garrison joined Bruno's in 1969 as director of store operations. He was named a vice president and board member in 1970. In 1988 he was named president of the company's Piggly Wiggly Southern division in Vidalia, Ga. He returned here in 1990 as executive vice president of the Birmingham division.
