Bta, Barcelona Food Technologies, is redesigning its trade fair strategy by incorporating the latest machinery and technology for bakery products and cakes and pastries in 2015. From 21 to 24 April 2015 the Fira de Barcelona trade fair venue will welcome the event, which once again, for the third edition in a row, will be jointly held with the Hispack show. The latest advances in machinery, technology and equipment and services for the bakery products and cakes and pastry industries will share exhibition space alongside the now classic shows that form the structure of the Bta set-up: Tecnocárnica, Tecnoalimentaria and Ingretecno. A total of more than 1,500 companies comprise the largest industry exhibition of food technology and packaging, which will display the different stages of the food product, from the ingredient to the manufacturing process, via containers and packaging and its arrival at the point of sale. "We have noted that the Bta visitor is looking to find suppliers and global solutions that deal with the whole manufacturing process and the preservation of food and drink products, which makes our exhibition range highly complex and very different from the other meeting points in the industry," says Víctor Pascual, director for the event. Therefore, in 2015 Bta will see the attendance of professionals in bakery products, cakes and pastries, chocolate products, ice-cream products, the flour industry, pizzerias, installers, distributors and wholesalers to test, first hand, the latest advances in raw materials, intermediate products, ingredients and dough enhancers; machinery and equipment for preparation, the production and preservation of bread dough; cake and pastry bases and dairy products; frozen dough, baking ovens; refrigeration and fermentation chambers, refrigeration transport; commercial equipment for specific points of sale; and machinery for top-of-the-range production. Internationalization will be one of the cornerstones of the next edition of Bta. Bta 2015 will be an international networking centre that will promote commercial negotiations and exchanges between countries, facilitating a strong campaign of international promotion and a programme of guest buyers from the main host markets in the Spanish industry for the manufacturing and processing of food and drink products. According to Pascual, "Bta helps its participating companies to strengthen their marketing in the Spanish market and gain competitiveness in Mediterranean and Latin American countries which, together with countries from Asia and the Arab world, are the biggest recipients of the Spanish confectionary industry." The bakery products and cake and pasties industry is characterized by its high level of innovation, driven by the tastes of children, the main consumers of industrial bread, rolls and cakes and pastries. The new launches are defined by function and convenience: more reduced formats, new preservation systems that limit additives, less calories and sugar, healthier fats, a higher fibre content and more resistant containers and packaging materials. In Víctor Pascual's opinion, "Bta is undeniable proof that this industry is committed to technology, innovation and quality, in line with consumer demands and efficiently satisfying lifestyle demands." Bta is currently designing, together with the Organizing Committee and the most representative associations in the bakery products and cake and pastry industries, an intensive schedule of professional meetings, conferences, round table discussions and other activities to deal with highly current issues of interest.
