NEW YORK – D’Agostino here, which operates 13 stores in Manhattan and one in Rye Brook, N.Y., is offering targeted digital coupons on its website via Zavers by Google, a new service that integrates personalization with downloadable manufacturer coupons.
Zavers by Google – the result of Google’s acquisition of Zavers and Incentive Targeting – enables retailers and manufacturers to reward customers with coupons that are relevant to them. “So dog owners don’t get cat food coupons and parents of teenagers don’t get diaper coupons,” said Spencer Spinnell, Google’s director of emerging platforms, commerce, in a Google Commerce blog post.

At dagnyc.com shoppers can click on coupons to load them to their D'Agostino Rewards card. At the store checkout, they either swipe the loyalty card or tap their Google Wallet NFC-enabled phone on the payment terminal to redeem the saved coupons.
The service is free to retailers, while manufacturers pay a fee when a coupon is redeemed for a purchased product.
