ORLANDO, Fla. — Befitting the importance of energy and environmental topics to food retailers, the Food Marketing Institute's annual Energy & Technical Services Conference drew its usual robust crowd of retail engineers and maintenance managers Sept. 7-10 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate near Disney World here. The conference featured sessions on everything from energy costs and legislative updates to daylighting and refrigeration management. Attendees met with technology suppliers in an informal reception after the first full day.
