Hy-Vee Names Bean Assistant VPood Stores here has named Rod Bean assistant vice president of perishables. Hy-Vee Names Bean Assistant VP

ood Stores here has named Rod Bean assistant vice president of perishables. He will succeed Ray Stewart, who is now vice president of the Cherokee division, an area including 34 stores in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Bean, who joined Hy-Vee in 1971, has been store manager, director of operations for the Cherokee division and, most recently, director of perishables. Bean will be succeeded by Mike Caligiuri, formerly store manager.

In his new position, Bean will be responsible for overseeing the operations of all fresh departments and in-store prepared foods. He will report to Ron Pearson, chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Hy-Vee operates 160 supermarkets, 21 drug stores, and 38 convenience stores.
