Roundy's Taps Unit President

's here has named Ralph Beketic president of its Milwaukee division.

He succeeds Jerry Lestina, who was named president and chief operating officer of Roundy's last fall. Beketic, who was vice president of sales for the Milwaukee division, will report to Lestina.

Dave Ausprung succeeds Beketic as vice president of sales in Milwaukee. Ausprung was vice president of merchandising for the division, a title that has been eliminated.

Additionally, Mike Archer has been named vice president of marketing for the division. He assumes Ausprung's former responsibilities. Archer previously held various positions with Oklahoma City-based Fleming Cos., including vice president of marketing for the Lubbock, Texas, division.

Ausprung and Archer report to Beketic.

Also, John Paterson has been named vice president of operations for Roundy's northern region, which includes all of Wisconsin, northern Illinois and northern Indiana. He succeeds Tom Uyak, who, as reported, was named vice president of operations at Roundy's Midland Grocery division in Indiana.

Paterson had been vice president of distribution with Supervalu in Milwaukee. At Roundy's, he reports to Beketic.

Tom Turowski has been named vice president of retail operations in the Milwaukee division and will oversee Roundy's eight corporate Pick 'n Save stores. He also reports to Beketic. Turowski was director of operations for Pick 'n Save.

Steve Neumann has been named to succeed Turowski as director of operations for the corporate Pick 'n Saves. He reports to Turowski. Neumann was operations manager for Pick 'n Save, a position that will not be filled.

Bozzuto's Names Stores Director

CHESHIRE, Conn. -- Bozzuto's here has named Fred Witecy director of corporate stores, a new position at the wholesale distributor.

Witecy was retail sales manager at Bozzuto's.

In his new position, he will oversee the management of stores Bozzuto's acquires when independent customers leave the business. There are currently about six corporate stores, a spokesman said, though the number changes as stores are added or sold to other independents.

Witecy reports to Michael A. Bozzuto, executive vice president.

Dan Brock succeeds Witecy as retail sales manager. Brock was retail sales counselor. Brock will be responsible for coordinating the activities of all sales counselors, increasing communication between the wholesaler and its retail customers, developing strategies to help boost sales and profits for retail customers and adding emphasis to new business development and acquisitions in the wholesaler's New England marketing area, which includes parts of New York and New Jersey.

Sales counselors will report to Brock.

Brock reports to George Motel, vice president of retail management services. No successor has yet been named to Brock's retail sales counselor post.

Foodland Appoints Pflasterer to VP Post

LIVONIA, Mich. -- Foodland Distributors here has named James A. Pflasterer vice president of finance.

He succeeds Jerry Payne, who has left the company. Pflasterer will be responsible for all accounting and finance activities for the wholesale distributor.

Pflasterer was vice president of finance for the Milton, W. Va., division of Supervalu, a Minneapolis-based diversified wholesaler and retailer.

At Foodland, Pflasterer reports to Gregory F. Gallus, president and chairman.

Foodland Distributors is a joint venture operation owned by Supervalu and Kroger Co., Cincinnati. It supplies 175 supermarkets in Michigan.
