Hathaway to Run Deli at Bi-Lo

Prior to joining Bi-Lo, Hathaway had been with Pathmark Stores, Woodbridge, N.J., for 20 years. His last title there was director of in-store bakeries. In his new post, he reports to Roy Williams, vice president of meat-deli-bakery merchandising for the 197-unit chain.

Dorothy Lane Names Manager

DAYTON, Ohio -- Dorothy Lane Market here has named Shirley Hollis food-service manager.

Hollis assumes most of the responsibilities of Eileen Wilson, director of food service, who is semi-retiring from her position. Hollis, the company's deli manager for the past four years, had served as Wilson's assistant. She now reports to Wayne Chrisman, store director.

Wilson, with Dorothy Lane for 27 years, developed the deli department at the upscale, two-unit independent. She will continue to work on occasional special projects with Dorothy Lane owner Norman Mane.

Tidyman's Appoints Supervisor

GREEN ACRES, Wash. -- Mansour Alzaharna has been named service deli and espresso supervisor at Tidyman's Foods here, succeeding Kim Hanson, who has opened her own brokerage firm.

Previously, Alzaharna was hot deli manager at Randall's Food Markets, Houston. In his new post, he reports to Jerry Streeter, director of store operations.

The name of Hanson's new company, based in Spokane, Wash., is Service Deli Specialists. Hanson had been with the 10-unit Tidyman's for three years. Prior to that, she was catering director at Roth IGA Foodliners, West Salem, Ore.

Flavor Crisp Taps Nulty for VP

OMAHA, Neb. -- Flavor Crisp of America has named Michael J. Nulty vice president.

With Flavor Crisp since 1989, Nulty was national account manager.

He succeeds Elmer Lawson, who has been named to the new position of vice president of Flavor Crisp Food Division Inc., a corporation formed to focus on the development of restaurant concepts and franchise sales. Nulty reports to Ron Echtenkamp, president and chief executive officer of Flavor Crisp of America and Ballantyne of Omaha, and to John Wilmers, executive vice president of sales for Ballantyne of Omaha. Flavor Crisp of America is a subsidiary of Ballantyne of Omaha.
