Helene Curtis Appoints VP

tis Industries here has appointed Lawrence A. Gyenes chief financial officer and corporate vice president. He now also serves as a member of the company's corporate management committee.

Gyenes, who previously served as corporate vice president of finance for G.D. Searle & Co., succeeds Lewis Duberman, who resigned from Helene Curtis last year to pursue personal interests.

Helene Curtis also announced it appointed Thomas J. Gildea to the new position of chief information officer. Gildea "will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's business information efforts from a global and strategic perspective," according to the company. Gildea will also retain his title of corporate vice president at Helene Curtis.

Carex Taps Services Coordinator

NEWARK, N.J. -- Carex here, a division of Rubbermaid, Wooster, Ohio, has named Matthew Peck to the new position of customer services coordinator.

Formerly manager of inside sales, Peck will be responsible for improving order processing, fulfillment and customer relations in his new post.
