LC Limited Edition logo in a gray background | LC Limited EditionWhile the Russian Police Choir was busy performing Pharrell’s hit, “Get Lucky” at the Olympic Opening Ceremonies, Pentatonix was busy recording another “Lucky” song. That’s right, the a capella singing group -- who won the third season of The Sing Off on NBC -- recorded the Lucky Charms theme song in honor of the cereal’s spokesman, Lucky the Leprechaun. Lucky turns the big 5-0 this March 17th. As much as I love a cappella music, I think I love cereal as a snack even more. Now I can listen to a cappella music while enjoying the very same sweet cereal the group is singing about. When it comes to cereal, Lucky Charms has it all: brightly colored frosted, toasted oats littered with colored marshmallows like little tasty treasure. Whenever I go on vacation and they have Lucky Charms at the breakfast buffet, the kid inside of me sneaks an extra pack. Lucky Charms just has the ability to do that to a person. Even in my 30’s marshmallows for breakfast seems decadent. Perhaps it’s because Lucky the Leprechaun is as much a part of my childhood as the characters from Duck Tales or Tiny Toons (my apologies in advance for getting those theme songs stuck in your head). Here’s the scoop on the pint-sized magical mascot’s birthday bash: fans who can’t wait to get some of his Lucky Charms can visit LuckyWasHere.com and follow the hashtag #luckywashere to see where the beloved leprechaun pops up over the next few weeks. From March 4th-17th fans of the cereal can play the “Where’s Lucky” instant game for the chance to win exclusive limited edition prizes. Of all of the items up for grabs I think I’d most like to win the Limited Edition Lucky Charms High-Top Sneakers – green kicks with iconic Lucky Charms laces and accessories. I guess I’ll just have to try my luck.
