GREENSBORO, N.C. — Harris Teeter will expand its perishables distribution center here by 50,000 square feet, according to an article appearing in the Business Journal newspaper here Monday.

The retailer, a division of Matthews, N.C.-based Ruddick Corp., told the newspaper the expansion — which would increase the size of the facility to 225,000 square feet — would be complete in September and would allow the company to more efficiently service its stores.
