Instacart has launched a new partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS), a cancer-fighting organization dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support.

Through the partnership, the American Cancer Society will use Instacart Health Fresh Funds to support 1,000 families who are guests at an ACS Hope Lodge community in Lexington, Ky.; Birmingham, Ala.; or Rochester, N.Y. The program offers families a $100 Instacart Health Fresh Funds stipend to purchase groceries and essentials via Instacart.

The partnership also aims to increase nutrition security to support cancer patients during treatment. According to Instacart, research shows that 17%-55% of those undergoing cancer treatment face food insecurity, an intense yet frequently overlooked factor that can impact health outcomes.
