A Tragic Loss

dustry lost one of its champions when Ken Ernst of Andersen Consulting passed away on that tragic plane flight from Indianapolis to Chicago. [See Obituary, SN, Nov. 28, Page 4.] I had the pleasure of working with Ken on a number of important industrywide initiatives and he was always active and skilled in helping us sort through the challenges and complexities that confront all of us. In particular, his contributions to the Food Marketing Institute, National-American Wholesale Grocers' Association and Grocery Manufacturers of America in recent years had earned him a debt of gratitude from our entire industry.

We have lost a true friend in Ken Ernst, a man committed to his family, his profession and his clients. Let's pause and say thanks for all the contributions he made.
