McCormick & Company Appoints Two New Board of Directors Members

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor has appointed two new board of directors members. Michael Conway, president, global channel development for Starbucks Coffee Company and Maritza G. Montiel, former Deputy CEO and vice chairman of Deloitte LLP have been appointed to the board of directors of McCormick. [caption id="attachment_38101" align="alignright" width="232"] Michael Conway[/caption] Conway is a senior officer and executive team member with full profit and loss responsibility for the global $1.5 billion Starbucks consumer packaged goods, licensed store and foodservice business. He has responsibility for all commercial and business strategy functions and is driving aggressive plans to expand into emerging international markets. Prior to Starbucks, Conway served as worldwide president of McNeil Nutritional, a division of Johnson & Johnson, where he was responsible for global strategy and P&L delivery for McNeil Nutritionals across five franchises—Splenda, Nectresse, Lactaid, Benecol, and Viactiv. Conway also spent 10 years at Campbell Soup Co., where he rose to vice president of Marketing for the Adult Simple Meals Division. Alan D. Wilson, chairman and CEO of McCormick, says, "We are extremely pleased to have Mr. Conway join our board. His wealth of marketing experience in domestic and operational leadership roles will be a tremendous asset to McCormick as we continue to position the company for global growth." Montiel served for more than 40 years at Deloitte before retiring in June 2014. Her most recent appointment was as deputy CEO and vice chairman of the firm's U.S. business. As deputy CEO, Ms. Montiel led a variety of strategic initiatives including the transformation of the $1.4 billion Federal Government Services Practice. She was also a member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited Global board of directors. [caption id="attachment_38102" align="alignright" width="215"] Maritza Montiel[/caption] Prior to her most recent role with Deloitte, Montiel served as regional managing partner for the Southeast Region in which she led the organization through significant growth, from $600 million in revenue and a 1,800 member team to over $2 billion in revenue and a team of 9,000. She was also the managing partner responsible for Leadership Development & Succession, as well as Deloitte University where she developed and implemented a $350 million strategic initiative aimed at transforming Deloitte's professional development curriculum and training the next generation of leaders. Her experience in developing effective governance and shared responsibility models will be a valuable benefit to McCormick as we position the company for continued strength in the future," says Wilson.
