SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. - Meridian Products, a seafood marketing company here, has annnounced an exclusive licensing agreement to market a brand of shrimp based on the movie "Forrest Gump."

The product line will include raw, headless shrimp, cooked tail-on shrimp and cooked salad shrimp, all individually quick frozen and sold in 12-ounce and 14-ounce bags.

"Forrest Gump," a Paramount Pictures release, stars Tom Hanks as a slow-witted Southerner who becomes a football star, Vietnam War hero and millionaire shrimp entrepreneur.

Meridian is also planning to release Bubba Gump merchandise displays that include hats, T-shirts, aprons and a cookbook.
