NCSA INDUCTS 12 INDUSTRY VETERANS INTO CANDY HALL OF FAME

CLEVELAND -- Twelve candy-industry veterans were inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame, administered by the National Confectionery Sales Association, based here.
The honorees, along with several hundred industry guests, attended a private reception and party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum here, during the NCSA's annual meeting.
The 1998 inductees are: Allen R. Allured, Manufacturing Confectioner magazine; Fred Barnett, Ce De Candy, Inc.; William S. Barry, Bloomer Candy Co.; Bruce Gibbons, Atkinson-Crawford Sales Co.; Spaulding A. Goetze Sr., Goetze's Candy Co.; Art J. Jacovoni, Zachary Confections; James D. Nissen, Tootsie Roll Industries; Mario M. Pitoscia, Citrin-Pitoscia Co.; Jorg Schindler, Ragolds Susswaren GmbH & Co.; Frank J. Taglienti, Haribo of America; and Nan L. White, Interwest Brokerage. Leslie B. Schankman, of Leaf Inc., was inducted posthumously.
The inductees' names will be inscribed at Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, Pa., which will be the site of the 100th anniversary meeting of the NCSA and the 1999 Candy Hall of Fame Inductions, to be held April 29 through May 2, 1999.
The NCSA is the oldest trade association of candy manufacturers, distributors and retail buyers.
