UFCW Tries to Halt Super Kmarts

Kmart opened its first two southern California supercenters -- in La Habra and Anaheim -- Nov. 20. Its only other in the state is in Fresno.

President Appointed at Inman

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Paul Inman Associates here has named Ronald K. Fairchild president and chief operating officer. He succeeds Gerald C. Inman as president. Inman retains his titles as the company's chief executive officer, vice chairman of the board and chairman of the executive management committee.

For the last two years, Fairchild was corporate director of sales and chief operating officer for the company. Earlier this year, he was elected to the board of directors.
