To honor the hard work of industry members who have gone ‘above and beyond’ in their support of the foundation’s mission, Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) is pleased to announce the 2013 Supermarket Dietitian of the Year and Ambassador Excellence Award honorees. The PBH Ambassador and Supermarket Dietitian of the Year were inaugural recognition programs in 2013. The Ambassador Excellence Award Honorees were selected from a group of 30 PBH Ambassadors who have demonstrated the greatest amount of support, in terms of breadth and depth, to PBH, according to officials at the organization. A PBH Ambassador is an individual passionate about the foundation’s mission and the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters national health campaign and who are putting this passion to work. 2013 Ambassador Excellence Award Honorees:

  • Gaines Chamberlain, Blanc Industries

  • Chavanne Hanson, Nestle

  • Brett Libke, The Oppenheimer Group

  • Nichole Towell, Duda Farm Fresh Foods

  • Peggy Walker, Vance Publishing

PBH's Supermarket Dietitian of the Year award recognizes the top supermarket registered dietitians and/or health and wellness staff for their support of Fruits & Veggies—More Matters and their collective contributions to our overall goal of increasing the sale and consumption of fruits and vegetables. 2013 Supermarket Dietitians of the Year:

  • Amber Badeau, ShopRite of Olney

  • Alyson Dykstra, Homeland Stores

  • Meredith Mensinger, Redner's Warehouse Markets

"The support PBH received throughout 2013 from our Ambassadors and from our supermarket dietitians has been quite impressive and truly outstanding," says Elizabeth Pivonka, president and CEO.  "I am therefore pleased to announce our first ever group of Ambassador Excellence Award Honorees and Supermarket Dietitians of the Year.  Together we continue to convey a clear and consistent message that including a variety of fruits and vegetables, at every eating occassion, is an essential component of creating a healthier America."
