MINNEAPOLIS -- Pillsbury Co. here is rolling out a new store fixture for its brands of refrigerated baked goods. It is designed to reduce wasted air space and result in up to 50% more product visibility per shelf and up to 25% more cubic inventory. Jewel Food Stores, Melrose Park, Ill., and H.E. Butt Grocery Co., San Antonio, tested the display in stores in July. Since then, Pillsbury has installed 400 to 500 fixtures in stores like Dominick's Finer Foods, Safeway, Giant Food, Giant Eagle, Lucky Stores and Albertson's.
