LOS ANGELES — Smart & Final here said Wednesday it will move high-velocity groceries and perishables into a new, larger facility by the end of the year.

According to a spokesman, Smart & Final will transfer its fast-moving items to a new 350,000-square-foot distribution center in Fontana, Calif., from the 258,000-square-foot facility in Rancho Cucamonga that it's used for the past five years.

"The move will meet our needs better and accommodate the growth of Smart & Final," he told SN.

The company will continue to operate its main distribution center in the City of Commerce, Calif., he added.
