In this week’s recap of the Top 10 most popular Supermarket News articles, the top story was Connecticut AG launches inquiry into grocery price gouging. A Federal Trade Commission (FTC) report accusing big grocery chains of price gouging opened the eyes of Connecticut State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff. After hearing the report, he went straight to Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, and on Thursday Tong announced the state was conducting an inquiry on food and grocery prices.

In other news, dairy sales are up in the first couple of months of 2024, according to the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA), and there are several new buzzwords and trends contributing to growth in the category. This is good news, considering overall dairy sales were floundering in the latter part of 2023.
