The 72,000-square-foot store, set to open Nov. 18, was designed to better meet the needs of customers and positively impact the health and well-being of the community, the company said.

“This new Chelmsford Stop & Shop is a leader when it comes to providing the breadth of selection and options for our customers. Our aim is to not only help simplify their shopping experience – allowing customers to shop the way they prefer to shop – but make it truly enjoyable as well," Mark McGowan, president, Stop & Shop New England division, said in a statement.

New offerings include an in-store nutritionist, a supervised child play area, curbside pick-up and an expansive produce department featuring more than 1,200 items. The prepared food section and full-service deli department will feature fresh fried and rotisserie chicken, a full salad bar, more than 250 varieties of world-class cheeses, a sushi bar, hot soup, sandwiches and more. The store also includes service meat, bakery and seafood counters and a Nature’s Promise branded natural and organics department.

The store will offer shopping tools including the Scan It! wands and mobile capability allowing shoppers to receive personal offers while they shop. Curbside pickup allows customers who shop from home the ability to pick up orders without leaving their cars.
