Uber Health, the healthcare arm of Uber, has expanded to launch grocery and over-the-counter item delivery.

The platform expansion will ultimately allow both users and providers to use one platform for both non-emergency medical transportation and prescription delivery, as well as groceries and over-the-counter items. Basically, by leveraging the delivery capabilities of Uber Eats, Uber is providing a one-stop shop for Uber Healthcare users.

Uber Health has continued to expand its offerings as it experiences increasing demands from the healthcare sector, according to Uber. This includes an increased need for patient transportation and critical deliveries, resulting in 75% of gross bookings growth for Uber Health from the first quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.

While the Uber Health arm was developed to address transportation to and from doctor appointments, the company says it can now “unlock the benefits of food as a medicine nationwide.”
