UNFI Names Mark Bushway to Lead Supply Chain

The 18-year UNFI veteran currently is president of wholesaler's Atlantic region. Bushway, currently president of the Providence, R.I.-based wholesaler's Atlantic region, will assume his new CSCO role on Jan. 3.

United Natural Foods Inc. named Mark Bushway as the company's new chief supply chain officer, leading the Providence, R.I.-based wholesaler's fulfillment network.

Mark Bushway new CSCO for UNFI

Bushway will move from his current role as president of UNFI's Atlantic region to the CSCO role on Jan. 3, 2022. He succeeds Jim Gehr, who had served as supply-chain chief since May 2020. No details about Gehr's departure from the role were immediately available from UNFI.

Prior to joining UNFI 18 years ago, Bushway spent 14 years in leadership positions with Keene, N.H.-based C&S Wholesale Grocers. In his new position, Bushway will focus on executing on the wholesaler’s existing fulfillment network strategy while building out cross-selling capabilities and “accelerating network optimization and automation initiatives,” UNFI stated in a news release. Bushway will lead the wholesaler’s 56 distributions centers, which serve more than 30,000 customer locations.

"Mark is a terrific fit to lead our fulfillment network,” UNFI CEO Eric Dorne said in a release. “Having led our Atlantic Region for the past three years, he fully understands the evolving needs of our customers and will bring his experience and expertise to bear in support of their unique needs today and in the future.”
