LOS ANGELES -- The Video Software Dealers Association is counting on the site of next year's convention -- here -- July 10 to 13, to be a big retail draw.

"All our retailers are basically in the entertainment business and this is an opportunity to come and see where the movies are made," said Bob Finlayson, VSDA's vice president of communications.

VSDA will continue to enhance the seminar program at the show. When the schedule is announced, "you will see additional seminars on topics that our members have been requesting, ones that will be valuable to all video retailers," said Finlayson. The main business sessions and the Homer awards presentation also will be enhanced, he noted. "We are going to tighten the awards show up and make it more entertaining," he said. Vacation packages to the Los Angeles area will be offered by VSDA in conjunction with travel to the show, he said.
