It’s been about three years since online delivery tech firm DoorDash began partnering with JPMorgan Chase, offering discounts and deals for the financial institution’s extensive line of credit cards.

On Wednesday, the two companies announced they have taken the relationship further by releasing a new credit card under the DoorDash brand.

DoorDash Chief Business Officer Keith Yandell and Ed Olebe, president of co-brand cards for Chase, said the card offers 4% cash back on all DoorDash and Caviar purchases, 3% on all other dining, 2% on grocery purchases that don’t use the DoorDash app and 1% everywhere else.

“If you love DoorDash, you’re going to love this card,” Olebe said.

The release of the card comes at a time when DoorDash is working to raise awareness that it is more than a restaurant delivery service. Yandell said the DoorDash network includes more than 100,000 non-restaurant businesses, but many are still unaware.

The company is so eager to get the word out that it released a commercial in the 2023 Super Bowl titled "We Get Groceries," featuring hip-hop artist Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan, celebrity chef Matty Matheson of the Hulu series "The Bear" and others.

Yandell noted that he was watching television recently and a commercial came on for DoorDash, and several of his close friends said they were unaware that the service was available for grocery stores.

Late last month, Aldi joined forces with DoorDash to expand its delivery offerings.

The card aims to help raise awareness that DoorDash is more than a restaurant delivery service. “It can create a ton of value whether you’re using it for gas, groceries or dining in a restaurant,” Olebe added.

Like with many new credit card launches, the DoorDash Mastercard includes a $100 signing bonus for those who spend $500 more in the first three months. Card members can redeem points in a number of ways, including putting them toward a future DoorDash or Caviar order, trading them in for gift cards and getting a direct deposit in the cardmember’s bank account.

Cardmembers also receive a free year of DashPass, which is valued at $96 and provides various benefits to members, such as no delivery fees and 5% credits on pickup orders. Those who spend more than $10,000 annually on the card will receive a complimentary DashPass membership.
