Toronto-based grocery tech company Invafresh announced Thursday it has named Will Hansmann chief technology officer.
Hansmann previously served in the same role at global supply chain company project44, where he led engineering and worked with the company’s project management and go-to-market teams on the construction of project44’s supply chain visibility program. He also held leadership roles at Citadel, Uptake Technologies, Channel IQ and Aurora Invesment Management.
As chief technology officer at project44, Hansmann oversaw the expansion of the company across the U.S., Europe, China and India, Invafresh said.
“I’m excited to be part of the Invafresh team to deliver a world-class experience to our customers through world-class advanced engineering leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to address the challenges they are facing,” said Hansmann in a statement. “This is a time of great innovation in the fresh food and grocery industry as our customers increasingly look to technology to deliver a better customer experience and advance their business. My focus will be to ensure we continually advance our Fresh Retail Platform to exceed our customers’ expectations.”
Invafresh said the hire comes at a time of growth for the company’s artificial intelligence, machine learning and analytics capabilities, positioning the company for further expansion in 2024.
