Grocery delivery start-up Jokr has partnered with Relex Solutions, provider of unified retail planning solutions, to implement demand forecasting, replenishment, space planning and workload forecasting across its nearly 100 hubs worldwide.

Incorporating the Relex Living Retail Platform into its core operations will boost Jokr’s planning efficiency, reduce inventory and increase product availability, says Relex. Additionally, Relex will enable accurate workload forecasting for employees in the hubs as well as delivery associates, driving more efficient picking and reduction in delivery time.

Currently operating in Vienna, Warsaw, New York, São Paulo, Mexico City, Bogota and Lima, among other cities, Jokr has experienced significant growth and has plans for more expansion over the coming years.

Prior to its partnership with Relex, Jokr’s planning relied heavily on manual processes. In order to sustain and grow its business today, the company realized it needed a unified, scalable system that could provide accurate forecasts and optimize efficiency and utilization of all resources, thereby supporting its value proposition of providing rapid, 15-minute delivery to customers.

It used to be, you’d plan this long shopping trip over the course of a whole week, knowing that there wasn’t a groceries-in-the-moment option,” Zachary Dennett, U.S. co-founder of Jokr told WGB in a recent interview. “Now, when you need something, you can just order it. You decide you want to cook dinner, throw in a couple of ingredients, and we’ll get it to you in 15 minutes. You’ll have your ingredients before your oven is preheated. You need a breakfast? You need fresh bread? We’ll get it for you.”

“Speed is crucial in our market segment,” said Jens Kilimann, VP global supply chain at Jokr, in a statement. “As a very young and internationally growing company, Jokr depends on perfect planning processes. From Relex, we expect a significant reduction in central planning effort and inventory. At the same time, the solution establishes more efficient workflows across all processes and helps us to always offer our customers the highest availability and fastest delivery.”

“We are very pleased to welcome Jokr, another grocery delivery service, as a customer,” says Florian Strecker, senior account executive at Relex Solutions. “Our integrated planning approach offers real added value—we are certain that the integration of demand forecasts and replenishment, shelf space optimization, and workload forecasting will optimally support Jokr’s growth and business needs now and in the years to come.”
