Kroger is growing its delivery business, and is getting the word out about its Express Delivery service through San Francisco-based Instacart.

It’s been more than three years since the grocery chain launched its Kroger Delivery Now service with Instacart, which provided a 30-minute “virtual convenience store” for select items.

That limited assortment has now been expanded to the rest of the store in as few as two hours under the newly created Kroger Express Delivery, according to Kroger.

The grocery chain noted that regular pickup orders are still free for orders of $35 or more. Non-express delivery is also free for members of Boost by Kroger Plus, the grocer’s $99-a-year loyalty program.

Delivery is a big area of growth for Kroger, which reported in early December that its delivery business was up 18% year over year “driven by the growth in demand across our Kroger Delivery network.”

The grocery chain said in the press release that it is bridging the gap between online and in-store shopping experience by offering the same “prices, savings, and rewards” found at their brick-and-mortar locations.

“Whether you need an item or two to get dinner on the table quickly between homework and bedtime, forgot the candles for a birthday cake or your game day party ran out of chips just before kickoff, Express Delivery has it covered when you need something and you need it fast,” Kenneth Perkins, senior director of ecommerce strategy, planning and operations for Kroger, said in a press release.
