Expanding its partnership with Shipt, Dierbergs Markets has launched curbside pickup for online grocery orders.

Dierbergs said Tuesday the click-and-collect program builds on the Dierbergs Delivered Fresh same-day delivery service that the St. Louis-area grocer introduced nearly two years ago. Customers now have the option to select delivery or pickup from their preferred Dierbergs store when placing an online grocery order — including fresh and prepared foods — via the Shipt app or Shipt.com.

“Today’s lifestyles are very busy. It’s important that we give our customers easy, convenient and personalized ways to shop our stores,” Andy Pauk, chief operating officer at Dierbergs, said in a statement. “That means you can visit us in our stores; order online for delivery to your home, office or even your kid’s soccer game; or now just pull up to our store and we’ll load up your groceries without you having to leave your car.”

After signing up with Shipt, Dierbergs customers can create a shopping list and, after completing their purchasing and receiving notification that their order is ready, drive to the designated store and park in a “Curbside Pickup” parking space. Shipt personal shoppers pick, bag and load the groceries into the customer’s vehicle in as soon as one hour, Dierbergs said, adding that customers can communicate with the shopper in real time along the way.

Dierbergs customers can get a two-week free trial of the Shipt service by enrolling at Dierbergs.com/Shipt. They also can sign up for a $99 annual membership, which provides free, unlimited deliveries and store pickup on orders of $35 or more.

Chesterfield, Mo.-based Dierbergs began its partnership with Shipt in September 2017 with the launch of same-day delivery to the retailer’s stores in metropolitan St. Louis. Shipt delivery expanded to Dierbergs customers in the Osage Beach, Mo., area in May 2018.

Overall, Dierbergs operates 24 supermarkets in the St. Louis market and one at Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri.
