Gallery: Weis Markets Ramps Up Foodservice

Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa., has made big changes in its prepared food programs. The 164-unit chain, continuing to make comfort food the core of its foodservice department, is improving quality and adding variety.

Recent additions include a tweaked green-salad-with-protein program; plated, chilled meals; new bistro sandwiches, and a “reinvented” rotisserie chicken program with proprietary flavors. A self-service, hot buffet is being tried at one of the chain’s newest stores.
