Ahold-owned food delivery service Peapod is expanding its selection of shoppable recipes and adding a new meal kit thanks to a partnership with Skinnytaste blogger and cookbook author Gina Homolka.

Peapod plans to include recipes from Homolka’s popular cookbook Skinnytaste Fast and Slow on its recipe hub FromthePod.com, where customers can add all the ingredients in a recipe to their online carts with one click.

In November, the retailer will also launch a Skinnytaste by Peapod Chicken Cacciatore Meal Kit, which will initially be available in Chicago, New Jersey and Hanover, Md., according to a Peapod spokesperson.

“Gina is at the forefront of the digital food community and was a natural choice for Peapod to collaborate with on content creation and product development,” Tony Stallone, Peapod’s VP of merchandising, said in a press release. “We’re viewed as a solution to help our customers get a delicious dinner on the table. We understand this takes more than just groceries and that’s why we have created one-click, ready-to-cook meal kits, a library of shoppable recipes, and quick how-to videos. Gina is an expert in recipe creation and solving meal time challenges and we’re thrilled to be able to bring her voice and recipes directly to our customers.”

The retailer said this is the first partnership of its kind for Peapod.

Peapod partners with a handful of CPG companies on some of its other meal kit offerings.
