In this week’s recap of the Top 10 most popular Supermarket News articles, the top story was Walmart to cut hundreds of corporate jobs, bring remote workers back in. Walmart is cutting hundreds of corporate positions and asking some workers to relocate from smaller offices to larger locations, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. In addition, the company is asking remote workers to begin spending most of their time in the office, the newspaper reported.

In other news, Democrats in Congress are calling on President Joe Biden to use executive authority to rein in skyrocketing food prices, which have increased by 25% since the beginning of the pandemic. U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) sent a letter to Biden signed by dozens of Democratic lawmakers from across the country saying that corporations are making record profits as families struggle with high food prices.
